Your Environmentally Conscious New Jersey Moving Fleet
Poweder by Biodiesel

Running the 10-truck Harrington Movers fleet on regular diesel fuel used to release a lot of harmful emissions into the atmosphere whenever we fired up the engines. In January 2010, we made the earth-friendly decision to switch every Harrington Movers truck to biodiesel fuel.

You can feel good about choosing a moving company with an earth-friendly conscience. According to the National Biodiesel Board, using biodiesel leads to a substantial reduction of harmful emissions like carbon monoxide and eliminates emissions of the major components of acid rain. The Department of Energy and the Department of Agriculture have concluded that biodiesel reduces net CO2 emissions by 78 percent when compared to traditional diesel. The fuel is also made from a combination of renewable resources that can be grown and sold right here in the U.S.

Our Total Green Overhaul

The move to biodiesel is just one part of Harrington’s comprehensive environmental efforts. We’ve built a company-wide green initiative from the ground up, starting with the little things (energy efficient light bulbs, biodegradable garbage bags, and reducing our heating and cooling usage in the office).

Now we’re moving onto bigger things by offering our customers waste-reducing products like recycled material moving boxes and a used box exchange program. You’ll also save money and time with convenient downloadable forms and digital estimates that take some of the hassle out of moving while also cutting down on wasted paper, postage and fuel.

Harrington Movers President Jeff Harrington, who also serves as president of the New Jersey Warehouse & Movers Association, is now working with the state to eliminate the mandatory use of multi-part carbon-copy service forms and bills of lading. Says Jeff, “Because state regulations specify the kinds of documentation required by the moving industry, we’re lobbying to update these requirements. With over 300 moving companies across the state, small changes like these could have a huge environmental impact in cutting down on waste.”

Call Harrington Movers today for a move that’s not only hassle-free but environmentally responsible, too.
